TOW I'm a student again

Classes have been going on for one week. I managed to survive the dreaded 5 days. Hehhehe... Next week is another story. *sigh*

I share a class with a fellow lecturer. We teach the same subject but the class is divided into 2 because it is easier to handle that way. Anyway, since it was pouring today, no one turned up for my class at 8am. I waited till 8.25. Then I decided to just sit at the back of my colleague's class and listen to him teach. Boleh cilok idea sikit *grin*. I was just sitting there quietly, minding my own business and being a very attentive listener when 2 girls entered the class. They took the seats next to me.

One of them asked me, "Are you taking this class as well?".

I smiled and shook my head. First of all, it was flattering that someone thought I was a student. Wow, those nightcream really works. And secondly, if I was a student why would I be sitting in that class if I wasn't taking the course? Heheheh. 10 minutes later another guy entered and he asked me whether I attended last week's lecture because he wanted my notes. I had this amused look on my face as I smiled and said no. Then around 9 I decided that I should leave the class before they started to introduce themselves to me and enquire whether I am a new enrolled student. That would be akward. I cant introduce myself like this, "Oh, nice to meet you too. No, I'm not in this class actually. I'm teaching it but the other group in the next room." Kesian pulak diorg nanti tersipu-sipu if I tell them that. But it was a boost to my ego though. Hey world!! I look younger than I really am. I pass for a college student. Hehehhehe!!!

Dah la semlm the technical staff for our faculty said I looked like a student because I was lugging my Kickers backpack. Usually I carry both, my handbag(for my wallet, handphone, keys...) and backpack(files, books) but that day I decided to just put everything in one bag. Hmmm, maybe I should start meng-anggunkan diri. A lecturer should carry those black leather briefcase or bags right? But penat la pegang tangan macam tu. I'd rather just use a bag which I can sling on my shoulder. Oh well, maybe next year I'll revamp my style.

Sometimes, when a student doesnt realize you are a lecturer, they dont acknowledge your presence. Hence,
- No one makes way when you walk in a crowded corridoor so you'd have to squeeze your way through.
- No one cares to help you carry the stack of files in your arms that threaten to tip you sideways.
- Students hit on you and give you wolf whistles when you walk by.

But either than that...HEY, I COULD PASS FOR A COLLEGE STUDENT!!! *GRIN*

TOW the broken lever

Tgh semangat buat kerja, printer pulak buat hal. 2 hours before my next class and I havent printed out the attendance sheet. Paper jam alahaaaiiii. Rentap punye rentap separuh je yg keluar, dah le in pieces. The printer seemed jam free after much tugging. Bila on balik ade this bunyi mcm plastic dah terperonyok dlm tu. Irritating sgt bunyi dia. I would have just let it be if not because bile print the middle part of my document keluar all smudged. I pun terpaksa meng-McGyverkan diri and bukak the printer. Dah la I tak pernah masukkan toner dia, ni nak keluarkan satu hal pulak. Fiddle2, last2 toner boleh keluar (tp ade menda terpatah...heheh...i celotape balik :P, dont think it would affect anything...i hope). Jenguk kat dlm wheel/drum dia and nampak ade mcm a bit of paper still in there. Camne nak keluarkan ni??? Kena unscrew the wheel ni plak. Tu dah over la tu kalau nak kena take the printer apart. Kang bukak punye bukak tak reti pasang balik. Dah la harta kerajaan. Nak report kat maintenance segan plak sbb the "insignificant" lever tu dah patah and dah di-celotape balik. Takut kena sound pulak. Hehehhe... tu la memandai sgt. Lecehnya tak blh pakai printer ni. Camne nak buat ni ah? Class starts in less than 2 hours time. Aiyyoooo....

TOW white wira BDS 2030

I know I am not one to talk about moral issues and religion upbringing but sometimes I wonder why people do the things they do.

Monday was a bad day for my family and I. A man in a car snatched my mom's handbag and sped off. I was there but by the time any of us realised what had happened it was just to late to react. Here's the flashback:-

We just reached my sister's house in USJ 11 and I parked the car at the roadside (not enough driveway space). I was driving and my mom was sitting behind me (driver's side was next to the road). We got down and my dad went first to open the gate. My sister was waiting for my mom behind the car with her daughter and my mom was walking towards her with me following behind her. I stopped to unlock the trunk so I was giving my back to my mom and didnt notice a WHITE WIRA had slowly pulled up next to my mom. My sister thought that the car wanted to park on the side of the road that they were standing so she gently pulled my mom towards her, out of the way of the car. The next thing I knew was that my sister was shouting at the driver and the car had zoomed off. I only managed to run to the middle of the road (failed to check whether the road was clear but thank God that it was) and took a good look at his car license number.

We managed to recover from the shock 5 seconds later and jumped back into the car and drove to the nearest police station. On the way, I called the station to inform them what had taken place and described the car, guy in it, license number and where I thot the car was headed. About less than 5 minutes later we reached the police station to find that everyone in the station were calm as if nothing had happened. The officer asked my sister "Oh, awak ke yg telefon tadi mengenai bag kena ragut tu? Tak sangka cepat sgt sampai." What????!!! This was like the crucial 15 minutes which will increase the chances of the a**hole being caught. Of course we'd rush there, we'd have sprouted wings if that was possible. And can you believe it? They had to take the details again and only then (after much dillydally) did they radio out to their patrol cars to keep a lookout for the white car (which by that time I bet have already exited USJ through any one of the 3 exits (Puchong, Subang, Kesas)). But my guess at that time was that he would have headed towards Puchong because it was the closest and with least traffic. It wasnt a surprise that they didnt manage to catch the guy. I must have been asking too much when I hoped that they would have responded like the LAPDs in the movies. Oh well..

Kesian my mom. It was traumatic for her (and us all). While she was in the station writing out a report my dad and I were busy outside calling up her bank and cancelling her cards and all. I found out that you cant terminate a Hotlink service. 30 minutes later, we went back to my sister's place. My dad was more angry than upset about the lost. Siapa tak marah?? Nasib baik my mom tak jatuh masa kena snatch. Tp Alhamdulillah, 20 minutes later my mom's friend called my dad's cellphone and said that a girl had called her and told her she found my mom's bag in the drain. She got my mom's friend's number from the business card she found in my mom's bag. So, berkat bulan Ramadhan, we went to the girl and got my mom's bag back. Her phone was taken along with the cash and even her Bonia purse. The stupid thief dumped everything else in the bag. But apa2 pun, we were all very thankfull and bersyukur that we got the important stuffs back (IC, license..). The girl found the bag in a drain in Puchong... *sigh*... kalau la polis had blocked the road after the toll...

Anyway, everything is ok now. According to the police, the guy have striked more than once and they are in the lookout for the guy. He usually wanders the roads near Summit USJ looking for victims. There were 2 in the car. They use fake license number and always use either a white wira or a red car (tak sure what type). He used BDS 2030 that day. They are 2 chinese guys, the driver had curly, blonde-dyed hair. His white wira ada exhaust sports besar and bunyi kereta dia ala2 sporty. Sedan with no spoiler.

So, people...be careful. Orang sekarang dah tak ade harga diri. They would do anything for money.

Damn these people. They'd get their fair share one way or the other...
